Po několikaleté přestávce se Nizozemsko vrátilo k národnímu kolu, které v roce 2012 produkoval sám John de Mol. Národního kola Eurovize 2012 v Nizozemsku – Nationaal Songfestival, se zúčastnilo šest interpretů. Ti se utkali v duelech, ale vítězem se stal jen jeden. Nizozemsko bude na Eurovision Song Contest 2012 v ázerbájdžánském Baku reprezentovat Joan Franka s písní „You And Me“.

Joan Franka se narodila 2. dubna 1990 v nizozemské m Rotterdamu a své jméno získala díky účasti v talentové show The Voice of Holland v roce 2010, kterou produkoval John de Mol, stejně tak jako národní kolo Eurovision Song Contest 2012 v Niozemsku.
Svou účast v Hlasu Nizozemska ukončila po šesté živé show. Během její účasti v pořadu jí však přišla nabídka na nahrání jejího debutového alba.
V roce 2012 se stala reprezentantkou Nizozemska na Eurovision Song Contest 2012, kde bude vystupovat se svou soutěžní skladbou „You And Me“.
